Ethics In Fashion Photography

1.)
  • Freckles are covered up
  • Lips are touched up
  • Hair is teased and styled
  • Make Up is used excessively
  • Computer editing makes a completley different person
  • Head is lifted
  • Eye Brows are lifted
  • Neck is thinned
  • Ears are teased
  • skin tone is different
2.)  I think its unethical, they are promoting a product that supposedly has this effect creating a beautiful face when in reality the commercial crew had to do hours of make up on the model and even after the photo shoot further computer editing had to be done so I think that the company is lying to customers giving them hope that their product has these incredible abilities when they really dont.

3.)  I think under circumstances involving important people doing things or actions involving the U.S Government are times when photos should not be manipulated because if other countries see the photos they may be upset or offended.

4.)  I think comsetic changes are acceptable, but only to a certain extent.  Completely changing a person figure is not acceptable in my eyes.

5.)  Fashion photography edits their photos to best benefit the companies image and the models figure, photojournalism uses more just the basic methods of photograhy to capture very good photos.

6.)  Fashion photography has a very distant relationship to reality, it is very shady and hides alot of things from the viewer.  At times completley changing the appearance of a model.  Photojournalism has a very good relationship to reality, everything is very first person view, no editing, no fancy computer cropping, just clean, good photography.
