The Sport Pros

-Travis Haughton
The focus of the the portfolio is of an ordinary persons everyday schedule activities
Problems-
  • Over Cropped
  • Bad Timing and not using the best angle
  • No variety;Same Lense
Positive Features-
  • Good lighting
  • No blur at all
I overall liked a lot of the photos, I think the shots of athletes in action came out really good, but, the photographer also took a lot of useless photos for example the one of a man trying on a halloween mask of a golf ball.

-Nick Adams
The focus of this portfolio is the struggles and let downs of peoples lives.
Problems-
  • Too many kids
  • Over cropped
  • Terrible angles
Positive Features-
  • Good Timing
  • Great Lighing
I thought this portfolio was okay, there were more bad pictures than good, but the good pictures ended up coming out great so they kind of compensated for the bad pictures. I liked the location of many of the photos like, the beach, home, and the football field.

-Jordan Murph
The focus of almost the entire portfolio is SPORTS!
Problems-
  • Bad Lighting

Japans Earthquake

This photo really caught my eye because it covers a lot of ground, and it almost looks as if the coast of Japan  is being swallowed whole by the ocean.  The waves are pushing really fast and really far into Japan. Its kind of hard to imagine being there while this wave of destruction is charging towards you.
This photo of one of the Tsunamis waves hitting the beach and coastal neighborhoods caught my attention because I can already imagine the destruction of the land, trees, and houses. Just the force of the impact can tear some of these houses down, yet they are being constantly hit and flooded by the Tsunamis waves.
This is a photo of a whirl pool right off the coast of Japan.  Its size is incredible judging by how close to land it is, and its currents are destroying buildings along the coast. This whirl pool maybe caused three times the amount of damage in its area then just the 1st wave did.

Touching People

1. I think this project is a pretty easy one to do but can be pretty time consuming trying to get two strangers to touch each other to take a photo. Over all I think the photographer did a pretty good job and got some excellent shots of strangers touching each other.

2.If someone approached me with a camera and asked me to participate in a photo shoot where I had to touch a complete stranger I think my decision would depend on how the stranger looks, a pretty looking women is going to be a lot more appealing than a smelly hobo. I would also want to know if the photos were to be published anywhere such as a magazine or billboard/

3.I Think an unusual photo shoot similar to this one that I think would be fun to go and shoot would probably be of all the different festivals that happen here in Austin such as South by South West, Mud, Marley Fest, Kite Festival, and all the other fun events that are going on.

4. I don't think the photographer thought very much about the rules of photography because in every picture the people are in the dead center of the frame, but in alot of the photos the background of the pictures is very blurred putting the viewers entire focus on the two strangers touching each other just barely giving the viewer an idea of the persons general location such as the beach or a busy New York street.

Cool Advertising Idea

This AT&T advertisment is my personal favorite.  The reason i like it more than the rest is because back when I was a little chap in elementary school i would make this same shape with my hands and would cast a shadow that would look like an elephant.  So this picture brings back some memories from the good old days and its funny to think that AT&T might have stolen this idea from me!
